PPS Revision Notice #2017-012
PPS 15.01, Issue 39 - Part MarkingSummary of Changes:
- Revised status of 16-8700Q videojet ink to specify it can be used on all surfaces including bare titanium and titanium alloys.
- Replaced reference to use of TT-L-32 clear lacquer for covering ink stamped CSP 366-2 labels on pressure tested tanks with reference to covering the label with F4 clear cellulose nitrate lacquer (to A-A-3165) according to PPS 34.01.
- Replaced specific instructions relating to installation of plastic cable ties with reference to PPS 13.34.
PPS 34.01, Issue 19 - Application of Cellulose Nitrate Lacquer (F2 & F4)Summary of Changes:
- Clarified Table 1 (Superseded Finishes.
- Deleted all reference to use of TT-L-20 and TT-L-32 lacquers, as these products could contain ingredients that are banned under REACH regulations.
- Revised/clarified reference to relative humidity recording and/or indicating equipment.
- Deleted specific reference to the use of "Gardco EZ cup" Zahn #2 cups for measuring lacquer viscosity.
Revised lacquer preparation procedure to specify reducing the lacquer to be used for spray application to the appropriate spraying viscosity (instead of specifically the viscosity specified by the manufacturer).
