PPS Revision Notice #2017-015
PPS 13.28, Issue 21 - Storage Life of Adhesives, Sealants, Paints and Composite ProductsSummary of Changes:
- Revised code for DSC 234-5, DSC 234-7, DSC 234-9, DSC 234-11 and DSC 234-15 from "BB" to "AA".
- Updated manufacturer for Kal-Gard KG 200 from KG Industries LLC to Everlube Products.
- Updated product name from Dow Corning 321 to Dow Corning Molykote D-321R.
- Included storage data for Loctite SF 7088 (Loctite 7088) primer/activator (ref. PPS 19.02).
- Deleted all reference to TT-L-20 and TT-L-32 lacquers due to REACH regulations.
PPS 32.09, Issue 21 - Application of Dry Film Lubricants (C3, C7 and C8)Summary of Changes:
- Specified manufacturer for products (i.e., Everlube and Dow Corning).
- Replaced Dow Corning 321 with Dow Corning Molykote D-321R.
- Revised Facilities Requirements section to include reference to PPS 13.39 for additional requirements as this process is categorized as a Controlled Special Process.
- Specified that all testing and evaluation specified in PPS 32.09 shall be performed by Bombardier Toronto Materials Laboratory or by laboratories accredited according to BAERD GEN-018.
- Deleted statement that Kal-Gard KG 200 is for DASH 7 and subsequent aircraft as current BA production is only DASH 8 Q400 and Lear 45.
- Revised Note 1 in Table I to reflect current lubricants for C7.
- Added +/- 2F tolerance to the temperature for air dry coatings.
- Clarified note 1 in Sampling Schedule table regarding defective items found during sampling inspection.
- As this process is no longer being performed in Bombardier Toronto, hence, specified that safety precautions applicable to the materials and procedures specified herein shall be defined by the subcontractor performing the work for Bombardier Toronto.
- Revised Personnel Requirements section to refer to PPS 13.39 for personnel requirements.
