PPS Revision Notice #2017-023
PPS 30.16, Issue 11 - Steel Case Hardening - Liquid NitridingSummary of Changes:
- Deleted QDI-09-02. Specified that all equipment and facilities employed in carrying out the procedure specified in PPS 30.16 shall be approved by Bombardier as meeting the requiremetns of this PPS and applicable facility Quality Instructions.
- Specified that this process has been categorized as a controlled critical process. Revised Facilities Requirements section to include reference to PPS 13.39 for additional requirements.
- Specified that all testing and evalutaion specified in PPS 30.16 shall only be performed by Bombardier Toronto Materials Laboratory or by laboratories accredited according to BAERD GEN-018.
- Revised Facilities Requirements section.
- Deleted specifying that test pieces are available in bulk from Bombardier Toronto. Facilities performing the work shall be responsible to source their own test pieces.
- Deleted "Rust-Off #2" acid cleaner. Specified acid solution as specified in PPS 31.03.
- Replaced DH3772 Form with DH #3772A/3772B Forms (added sample of forms to PPS as examples of data to be recorded). Added new Heat Treatment Records section.
- Revised Personnel Requirements section to specify to refer to PPS 13.39 for additional requirements as this PPS is categorized as a controlled critical process.
PPS 31.13, Issue 11 - Cleaning Aluminum Alloys for High Strength Adhesive BondingSummary of Changes:
- Deleted referencing QDI-09-02.
- Deleted referencing to HR-02-03.
- Specified compressed air shall meet the requirements of BAERD GEN-023.
- Added new Facilities Requirements section. Added this requirement as it is cleaning for metal bonded parts in which the processes are categorized as critical processes.
- Specified that all testing and evaluation specified in PPS 31.13 shall only be performed by Bombardier Toronto Material Laboratory or by laboratories accredited according to BAERD GEN-018.
- Revised personnel requirements section. Specified to refer to PPS 13.39 for additional personnel requirementts.
- Deleted Turco 4215-S and Aquatone A1 as alkaline cleaning options.
- Replaced Deane & Co. with Henkel.
- Added an extended analysis frequency for solution control base on a 12 month compliant results.
- Updated product name of Turco 4215 NC-LT, Turco Ridoline #53 and Turco 4215 Additive.
- Turco 4215 NC-LT is now Bonderite C-AK 4215 NC-LT AERO.
- Turco 4215 Additive is now Bonderite C-AD 4215 AERO.
- Turco Ridoline #53 is now Bonderite C-AK 53 AERO.
